- Questions and Answers
Can anyone practice yoga?
Yes! BKS Iyengar has said that
‘anyone can practice yoga but yoga is not for everyone’.
This means that yoga is for young/old, fit/unfit, men/women, any
ethnic origin, any religious background, etc. but not everyone will
take to yoga.
Yoga has no boundaries or exclusions
but Iyengar yoga does involve physical activity. Many ailments can
be improved by Iyengar yoga practice but specific medical conditions
may require a more therapeutic approach, which cannot be accommodated
in a general yoga class.
-
If you have a specific medical condition,
which will prevent you from participating in a general class situation,
you must contact Judith, as a therapeutic programme may be more appropriate.
- Pregnancy - a
general class is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant who has not
practiced Iyengar yoga previously.
